The Church Connection Initiative at Trinity works with local churches to reinforce their mission and equip their leaders and lay members with the instruction, knowledge and opportunities necessary to enhance their service in God's kingdom.
What is the Church Connection Initiative at Trinity?
The CCIT is a catalyst for collaborative, cross-cultural learning that strengthens local churches by offering resources focused on four areas: preaching, worship, leadership development and service.
Who benefits from the CCIT?
The program seeks to educate church leaders and lay people in ways of cultivating corporate and individual ministry. Trinity faculty, staff and students contribute as partners and co-learners in the program. The CCIT also serves as a resource to help young people discern the call to ministry.
What are some activities that the CCIT uses?
Participants will gather in book clubs, small groups and seminars to encourage interactive learning and support. These settings will allow participants to discuss the four focal points, ask questions and share their ministry experiences.
What other organizations are involved?
The CCIT is a partnership of Trinity Christian College in cooperation with Calvin Theological Seminary, the Center for Excellence in Preaching, and the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship. The venture also is supported by the Lilly Endowment.

Church Leadership Transitions Forum
One way or another, every church will eventually lose its pastor. This can be a difficult time for churches. “The Elephant in the Boardroom” by Carolyn Weese and J. Russell Crabtree provides a nuts and bolts guide for a smoother transition through this process.
Crosspoint Stragegic Network of the Christian Reformed Church is partnering with the Church Connection Initiative at Trinity to sponsor a forum on this topic.
After purchasing and reading the book, you are invited to attend this forum which will be held at Trinity Christian College in the Library Board Room of the Jennie Huizenga Memorial Library on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
There will be a panel of people from churches who will share their experiences with pastoral leadership transitions as well as a time for questions and discussion about the book “The Elephant in the Boardroom”.
