Trinity’s Student Council for Exceptional Children student chapter is dedicated to improving educational outcomes for students with disabilities and promoting future leaders in the education of students with disabilities by recruiting future special education teachers, building professional peer relationships, providing community service and education and establishing connections with the disability community through newsletters, campus activities, and professional development.
1. Encourage active participation of education majors in the activities of this organization.
2. Foster appreciation for students with special needs and their education.
3. Establish connections with and support individuals with disabilities within the broader educational community.

What is SCEC?
Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) is a Trinity Christian College student organization affiliated with the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). CEC is an international, nonprofit organization that has promoted the causes for children with exceptionalities, their parents, and their teachers since 1992. SCEC members work to help individuals with exceptionalities and stay educated concerning current special education issues. Members of SCEC meet regularly to plan various activities and volunteer opportunities within the community.
Who can join?
The Trinity Christian College chapter of SCEC is open to all students in the teacher certification program and others who want to learn about individuals with exceptionalities and special education.

- Exceptional Children
- Teaching Exceptional Children
To develop your professionalism and therefore be able list your SCEC & CEC memberships on your resume!
How much does it cost?
SCEC membership fees are $63! That $63 includes:
- national membership, and
- CEC journals and
- SCEC's activities! (What a bargain $$$$!)
