One of the major components of the campaign is the funding for the gymnasium and athletic fields. This project involves not only a $1 million endowment for continued maintenance of the gymnasium, but also the funds for a significant remodeling and expansion of the Mitchell Memorial Gymnasium and the development of the Route 83 athletic fields. The total cost for the gymnasium expansion along with the Rt. 83 athletic field development is projected to be $15 million (including the endowment monies).
The extended Mitchell family, for whom the gymnasium is named, continues to support Trinity and its students. One of the ways in which they currently support the College is through the financial backing for four athletic scholarships. Scholarships like those funded by the Mitchell family form another focus of the capital campaign, since Trinity’s growing student body necessitates an increase in scholarships and other forms of financial aid. Since the start of the capital campaign in December 2006, generous friends of the College have donated $830,077 to endow scholarships to benefit Trinity students today and for many years to come This comprehensive campaign has added 19 new endowed scholarships and nine annually funded scholarships for Trinity students to enjoy. God is good!
With the completion of funding for such projects as the ARCC, the BBC, the Molenhouse Student Center, and the Elizabeth Meyer Memorial Student Health Center, as well as the significant progress on the athletics projects and the funds for 28 new scholarships, Trinity Christian College has much to celebrate where its comprehensive campaign is concerned!
