Field At Olivet Nazarene (4/23/05)
The Trolls braved
the cold weather and the opponents at the Olivet Nazarene University Invitational.
Despite fighting the elements the team put forth some good performances
and placed in a number of events. Overall the women's team finished with
46 points for a 5th place finish and the men's team took 10th place with
10 points.
The women broke
two school records for the day. Jomyla KcKinnie took first place
as she bested her own record with a throw of 39'00.25" in the shot put.
Diana Brickman ran 20.14.58 in the 5000 meter for a school record
and 6th place finish. Kaitlin Merrow finished with two 4th place
finishes, in the 200 meter and the 400 meter. Also finishing in top spots
were Esther Peters in the 100 meter hurdles (2nd place), Kathy
Boeringa in the shot put (4th place), and McKinnie in the discus
(3rd place).
The men's team
had three individuals place in the top five in their event. Rich Visser
took 4th in the 1500 meter with a time of 4.21.08, Matt Pfadenhauer
took 4th in the javelin with a throw of 155'11", and Thomas Donovan
was 5th in the shot put with a distance of 42'03.5".
The team's next
meet is on Friday, April 29, at Concordia University (IL) at 10:00 am.
