Chicago Christian standout to run at Trinity  (4/10/07)
Melissa Voss has committed to attend Trinity Christian College next fall and compete for the Trolls’ track and field program. Voss is currently a senior at Chicago Christian High School.

Voss has been a standout performer for Chicago Christian since her freshman season. In 2004 she was part of an 800 medley relay which placed seventh in the state. As a sophomore, she competed in four events in the state track meet, including an eighth place finish in the 400 meter relay and an 18th place result in the 400 meter dash. She missed the state track meet in 2006 as Chicago Christian was moved to the AA level in Illinois. Back at the A level for 2007, Voss is expected to return to state in multiple events.

In addition to her success on the track, Voss was also a key player for the Chicago Christian basketball team, which ended 24-7 this past year and captured conference and regional championships.

"Melissa will arrive at college with a great resume in track and field. She has already competed at a high level and we expect her to make an immediate impact for us," said Trinity head coach Jeff Raymond. "More important than her athletic abilities, Melissa is a strong student and a wonderful person. She will be a great fit for our program."

Melissa is the daughter of Tom and Cheryl Voss of Orland Park, Ill.
