Struggled Against Olivet Nazarene (41/8/07)
The Trolls did
not fare well with the top conference team of Olivet Nazarene University
in double-header action. They were shut-out in the first game with a 0-8
five-inning final. The second game also ended on the mercy rule after five
innings with a score of 1-11. The Trolls are now 8-21 for the season and
4-8 in the conference.
In the first
game the Trolls never got anything going offensively as they recorded only
one hit for the game. They did not help themselves out defensively as they
committed four errors that contributed to Olivet's eight runs.
The Trolls fell
in a gap early in the second game as they gave up eight runs in Olivet's
opening at bat. Olivet scored one more run in the third and two in the
fourth to make it 11-0. The only run for the Trolls came in the bottom
of the fourth inning when Sarah Lerner hit a solo homer to prevent
the shut-out.
The team will
play against on Friday, April 20, at Cardinal Stritch University at 3:00
pm.
