Jager Set
to Run at Trinity (5/15/07)
Jessica Jager,
a senior at Grand Rapids Christian High School in Michigan, will attend
Trinity Christian College next fall and join the cross country and track
and field teams.
Jager has been
part of a stellar cross country program for the past four years at Grand
Rapids Christian. Under the leadership of Jessica's father, Doug Jager,
the team has captured the past two state championships and were runners-up
her freshman and sophomore years. She has a personal best of 19:53 for
5000 meters and earned All-City honors in each of her four seasons.
After
playing three years of soccer, Jager is currently competing in her first
season of track and field. She has posted marks of 12:11 for the 3200 meter
and 5:43 for the 1600 meter.
"Jessica obviously
comes from a very strong high school program. She knows what it's like
to compete at a high level, so should be able to come right in a make an
impact," said head track coach Jeff Raymond. "We look forward to having
her join us at Trinity."
In addition to
her involvement in athletics, Jager has been on her school's academic honor
roll for four years. She has also been a student leader in her church youth
group, and traveled to the Dominican Republic on a missions trip last summer.
