Mabry Joins
Track and Field Program
(6/6/07)
The track and
field program adds depth to its field events with the addition of Karmen
Mabry, a transfer from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Mabry
competed for two seasons at Ball State and will have two years of eligibility
remaining.
Mabry ranks
in the all-time top 10 at Ball State in the shot put with a personal best
mark of 43' 7 1/4". She recorded a 10th place finish in the shot put at
the 2005 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Indoor Championships.
During her high
school career at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Illinois,
Mabry twice qualified for the Illinois Class AA Track and Field Championships.
"Karmen will
make an immediate impact for us," said head coach Jeff Raymond. "She has
the potential to be a NAIA national qualifier and also compete for a national
championship at the NCCAA level."
Mabry will major
in exercise science at Trinity. Her sister Pashal works in the College’s
financial aid office.
