Men’s Basketball Defeats Kuyper  (11/20/07)
With a great second half effort the Trolls post a 21 point victory over Kuyper College (MI). After trailing by five at half-time, Trinity out-scored Kuyper 45 to 19 in the second period to take the 69-48 win. The team is now 5-1 for the season.
 
The opening minutes of the game definitely belonged to Kuyper College as they sprinted out the gates to a quick 10-2 lead. The Trolls did all they could to stop their momentum and eventually slowed them down. They closed the gap, but still trailed at the intermission, 24-29.
 
Five minutes into the second period the Trolls tied the game at 36-36. From there the floodgates opened and in the next seven minutes they out-scored Kuyper 20 to 2 to take a 56-38 lead. From there the Trolls were in control of the game.
 
The team went from shooting 32.1% in the first half to 55.9% in the second period. They grabbed the advantage on the boards with 45 rebounds to Kuyper’s 36. Ross Stuursma ended the game with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Kurt Gruppen had 16 points and 8 rebounds along with 4 assists.  Will Bruinsma also ended in double figure scoring with 11 while Jonathan Huizinga had 8 rebounds and Ebiowei Porbeni had seven boards and seven points.
 
The Trolls will play again on Saturday, November 24, at Davenport University (MI) at 3:00 pm est.
