Men’s Basketball Falters At Davenport  (11/24/07)
The Trolls could not keep their winning streak alive as they lost a game at Davenport University (MI). After four wins in a row the team faltered with a 55-84 loss to the Panthers. The defeat is only the second one for the season, giving the team a current 5-2 record.

The Trolls got off to a slow start and found themselves in a 10-0 deficit in the opening minutes of the game. They regained their composure and climbed back into the game. However, Davenport once again got hot in the final minutes of the half and by the intermission the Trolls were down 25-39.

Davenport continued to dominate the scoring and within the first two minutes of the second period they were ahead by 23 points. Shooting only 33.3% from the field and getting beat on the boards, the Trolls did not help their cause to get back in the game. They fell further behind and eventually suffered the 29 point loss.

Of the team’s 55 points, 33 of them came at the hands of Ross Stuursma with 16 and Kurt Gruppen with 17. Jonathan Huizinga was the high rebounder with 7 boards.

The team will play next on Wednesday, November 28, at the Indiana University-South Bend.
