Women’s Basketball Loses at Grand View  (11/30/07)
After a solid first half, the Trolls let a game at Grand View College (IA) get away from them in the second period. They trailed by only a point at the half, but ended with a 62-75 loss. The team is now 2-7 for the first month of their season.
 
Based on the first half of play, it was difficult to predict who would be the victor at the end. During that period the score was tied six times and the lead went back and forth. By the intermission only one point separated the two teams with Grand View posting a one-point edge at 37-36.
 
In the first eight minutes of the second half Grand View steadily pulled ahead and increased their lead to 11 points, 56-45. Despite their efforts, the Trolls could not slow down the accurate shooting of the Vikings or make up the ground they needed.
 
For the game the Trolls shot 42.1% for the game while Grand View was 52.7% accurate. Tiffany Decking led the scoring with 15 points, shooting 6 for 10 from the field including 3 for 6 from the arc. Amanda Learned had 12 points and 7 rebounds. Sarah Lerner was also in double figure scoring with 14 points. She added 5 assists as well.
 
The Trolls will play again on Saturday, December 1, at Central College (IA) at 3:30 pm.
