Women’s Basketball Successful at Central  (12/01/07)
The Trolls made the most of the second half of their weekend in Iowa with a 74-65 win at Central College. The team grabbed a large lead in the first period and held on to the end of the game. They are now 3-7 for the season.
 
The Trolls used a good first half to take control of the game. A 14-0 stretch late in that period gave the Trolls a 19 point advantage. At the half they still had a significant lead at 34-19.
 
The Trolls continued to take charge in the second period and with 14 minutes to play had built a 22 point lead. Central increased the defensive pressure with a full-court press, forcing the Trolls to turn the ball over. With a minute to play the gap was reduced to seven points. By the Trolls were able to hold Central off and get the win.
 
The team shot 48.1% for the game and held Central to 33.8%. Sarah Lerner led the scoring with 21 points. Brittany Kolenbrander, who had nine rebounds, was not far behind with 19 points. Amanda Learned was also in double figures with 16 points.
 
The Trolls play next at Olivet Nazarene University at 7:00 pm on December 4.
