Men’s Basketball Falls to Lewis  (12/4/07)
The Trolls put together a good first half against NCAA Division II Lewis University. However they faltered in the second half to an eventual 57-79 loss. The team is now 6-4 for the season.
 
Shooting 52.0%, including hitting five of their ten attempts from behind the arc, the Trolls hung close to Lewis for the first 20 minutes. They were able to keep the Flyers in check and were trailing only 33-42 at the half.
 
In the second period turnover and fouls caught up with them and within the first five minutes the Trolls trailed by 20 points. The tide also turned as the team’s shooting percentage fell to 34.6% and they scored only six points in the first ten minutes of the period.  
 
For the game the Trolls ended with a 43.1 field goal percentage. Kurt Gruppen led the team with 21 points, 16 of those in the first half. Also in double figures was Will Bruinsma with 12 and Ebiowei Porbeni with 10. Kyle Lasek was the high rebounder with six.
 
The Trolls play next on Friday, December 7, against Madonna University at 6:00 pm in the Saint Xavier Classic.
