Men’s Basketball Moves by Trinity International  (1/16/08)
The Trolls make it four wins in a row with an 82-65 conference victory over Trinity International University (IL). The team is still perfect in the conference race at 3-0 and improves to 11-8 for the season.
 
The Trolls were accurate on the offensive end, shooting 55.6% for the game, and solid on the defensive side, holding the Trojans to 30.0% from the field. 
 
Earlier in the first period Trinity took the lead and held a slight edge throughout most of the half. In the final five minutes of the period they produced a 10 to 2 run that gave them a 12-point, 38-26, half-time lead.
 
A quick five points to start the second half increased the Trolls’ lead to 17 points. That double digit lead held for most of the remaining minutes, although TIU briefly cut it to single digits a couple of times. In the final minute and a half the Trojans got as close as 11 points, but the Trolls golden (10 for 10) from the line.
 
For the game Will Bruinsma led the team with 24 points and four assists. Kurt Gruppen and Ross Stuursma each added 21 points to the total. Ebiowei Porbeni and Kyle Lasek each took in six rebounds while Brad Martin led the team with five assists.
 
The Trolls will play next on January 19 at Purdue University-North Central (IN) at 3:00 pm.
