Women’s Basketball Defeated at Trinity International  (2/9/08)
The Trolls did not get the job done at Trinity International University and lost another conference game. After trailing by five points at half-time they took a 54-66 loss. They are now 9-17 overall and 2-6 in the CCAC.

Despite shooting only 28.6% and scoring 22 points in the first half, the Trolls were in the thick of the game. They held the lead through part of the period and were still up by one with 4:36 left.  However they were out-scored 10 to 4 in the final minutes to fall to 22-27 at the half.

The Trolls had a poor start to the second half as they turned the ball over five times in their first six possessions. Those mistakes created a double digit scoring deficit. With five minutes to play they cut that margin to just five points, 51-56, but did not get any closer than that as they scored only three more points to TIU’s 10.

The team ended up shooting 39.6% for the game. Amanda Learned led the team with 19 points and nine rebounds. Sarah Lerner chipped in 12 points and four assists while and Brittany Kolenbrander had 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Trolls will play next at Tuesday, February 12 at the University of St. Francis (IL) at 7:30 pm.
