Track and Field Competes in Chicagolands  (2/16/08)
The women’s and men’s track teams compete in two separate events in the Chicagoland Championships. The women participated at Lewis University at Friday, February 15, and the men’s meet was at the University of Chicago on Saturday, February 16.
 
There were three new individual school records set by the women’s team. Jessica Jager ran a time of 11:27.57 in the 3000 meter to better the school mark by two seconds. Danielle Swenson posted a triple jump distance of 30-7 for a school record. Ashley Biesboer bested her last week’s distance in the weight throw by over three inches to improve that record to 34-1.5.
 
In addition to those fine performances, Katie Vander Ark placed 4th in the high jump, clearing 5-1.75. The distance medley relay team of Jessica Huisenga, Danielle Swenson, Melissa Voss, and Jessica Jager took 5th place (13:42.91) and the 4 x 200 meter relay team of  Danielle Swenson, Rachel Garner, Katie VanderArk, and Melissa Voss took 7th (1:58.00).
 
For the men’s team the distance medley relay of Bolaji Adeoti, Tony Patrick, Joey Lerner, and Andy Jellema team took 4th place to earn points and put the team in 14th place overall. The foursome finished with a time of 11:00.60. In the 400 meter Bolaji Adeoti crossed the line with a time of 52.71 to set a new school record.
