Women’s Basketball Victorious over Calumet-St. Joseph (2/23/08)
In the final game of the regular season the Trolls eased to an 82-47 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph (IN). The win secured a fourth place conference finish for the team with a 4-6 CCAC record and brought their final regular season record to 11-19.
 
The Trolls started out the game hitting three treys to take a commanding lead. Within five minutes they had the scoring margin to ten points. Over the next ten minutes they doubled that gap and took a 42-22 into the intermission.
 
In the second period the Trolls continued to be in charge. Midway through the period the lead had increased to 30 points. By then end of the game Trinity had a 35-point win.
 
The team shot 50.8% from the field and 72.7% from the free throw line. They controlled the boards with 39 rebounds to Calumet’s 29. Amanda Learned had 12 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists for the game. Sarah Lerner added nine points and five assists. Brittany Kolenbrander had 10 points while Emily Thomassen had nine to go along with her six rebounds.
 
The Trolls will host Purdue University-Calumet in a quarterfinal game of the CCAC tournament on Monday, February 25, at 7:00 pm.
