Track and Field Competes at Goshen  (3/29/08)
In their third outdoor meet of the season the Trolls performed well at the Goshen Invitational (Goshen, IN). The women’s team scored 77 points for a third place finish and the men scored 48 points for fifth place.
 
Erin Zielke and Katie VanderArk led the way for the women with first place finishes in their events. Zielke set a school record and qualified for the NCCAA championships with her 2:24.28 time in the 800 meter. She was also ended the day with two second place finishes as a member of the 1600 meter and 3200 meter relay teams. VanderArk earned her first place finish with a 5-0 clearance in the high jump.
 
For the men Andy Jellema finished on top in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:16.56. Ryker VanDrunen reached NCCAA qualifying standards and set a school record with a toss of 129-11 in the discus. Bobby Bennett also set a school mark in the 110 meter high hurdles (18.47).
 
The Trolls will compete again on April 5 in the Chicagoland Championships at North Central College (IL).
