Softball Ends Losing Streak  (4/5/08)
After dropping two conference games earlier in the day the Trolls put an end to their 10-game losing streak with a win over Trinity International University. At Judson University the Trolls lost a conference double-header, 2-10 and 5-8, and then defeated TIU, 6-2. The team is now 2-13 for the season and 0-6 in the CCAC.

The Trolls started the Judson Invitational with a make-up CCAC double-header against the host school. The game ended in the sixth inning on the mercy rule when a home run by Judson drove in three runs to bring the score to 10-2. Both of the Trolls’ runs came in the second inning, one on a solo homer by Holli Jensen.

In the second game the Trolls got on the board in the first inning. Behind two home runs Judson went ahead 2-1 after the second inning and then made it 6-1 after the third.

Laura Arendsen started the fourth inning off with a four-bagger to rally to a three run inning. In the bottom of the inning Judson matched the scoring production to post an 8-4 lead. The Trolls added one more in the fifth, but did not get closer than that.

Following that conference action the Trolls took on Trinity International in a single game. Trinity moved runners around the bases in the second inning for two runs and then got two more in the third. A series of hits in the fourth inning gave the Trolls a 5-0 lead.

Trinity International made it 5-2 in the fifth inning, but the Trolls held them with bases loaded to finish out the inning. Hits by Holli Jensen and Katie Heaney in the sixth inning gave Trinity one more run. They held TIU off in the closing at bats to take the win.

The Trolls continue conference action on Monday, April 7, when they host Robert Morris College in a double-header at 3:00 pm
