Baseball Drops Two at Olivet Nazarene  (4/7/08)
The Trolls fought hard in the first game of a double-header at Olivet Nazarene University and were narrowly edged out with a 3-4 loss. They let the second game get away from them with a 1-14 defeat. Trinity is now 5-12 overall and 2-5 in the CCAC.

In the first game the Trolls trailed 0-3 through the first five innings. Rob Emmons then hit a solo homer to put the team on the board. Rich Tameling opened the seventh inning with a triple and was brought across the plate by Nick Scholten. A walk by Mark Igyarto, a single by Matt Kamp, and then a sacrifice fly by Joe Musolino created one more run and tied the game at 3-3.

After one out in the seventh inning Olivet produced back-to-back doubles to get the game winning run.

The second game was a different story as Olivet jumped to a 7-0 lead after the first inning. The Trolls prevented the shutout with a lone run in the second inning on a single by Mark Igyarto.

Olivet was not finished as they scored six more in the second inning and one in the fourth to make it 14-1. The Trolls could not generate an offense as they had only two hits for the game. They were three up and three down in the fifth inning and the game ended on the mercy rule.

The Trolls are next in action on Tuesday, April 8, at home against Saint Xavier University at 3:30 pm.
