Softball Falls to Cardinal Stritch  (4/23/08)
The Trolls battled against Cardinal Stritch University a conference double-header, but came up short in both games. The 1-3 and 4-7 losses bring their overall record to 6-21 and their CCAC record to 4-12.
 
In game one the Trolls gave up one run in the first inning to fall behind. A solo homer by Laura Arendsen at the start of the fourth inning tied the game at 1-1. The Wolves were able to string together a number of hits in the fifth inning to regain the lead at 3-1. Trinity struggled to answer as they managed only one hit in the final three innings.
 
In the second game the Trolls were first on the scoreboard when Kaylyn Bossert singled to bring in two runs. Their lead was short lived as Stritch scored two in the second and three in the third for a 5-2 lead.
 
The Trolls edged closer in the fourth inning with one run. Both teams gained a run in the sixth inning to make it 6-4. The Trolls gave up one more in the seventh inning. They had a runner in scoring position in the bottom of the inning, but could not keep the game alive.
 
Overall each team had 11 hits in the second game. Jenna Gesiakowski had three of those hits, while Allison Vanderwerff, Sarah Lerner, and Bossert each had two.
 
The Trolls will conclude their season on Saturday, April 26, when they host Saint Xavier University in a double-header at 1:00 pm.
