Baseball Stays in Conference Hunt  (4/26/08)
With split results at Cardinal Stritch University, the Trolls remain in the top six teams in the conference. Trinity won the first game, 9-0, and then lost the second one, 5-9. They end their regular season with a 14-18 overall and 9-11 conference record.

The Trolls jumped to a significant lead in the fourth inning of game one. They had five hits, including a two-run homer by Ryan Tevepaugh, to score four runs that inning.

The team came up big again in the sixth inning when they scored five more runs to go ahead 9-0. Mark Igyarto started off that at bat with a solo home run. Nick Scholten and Tevepaugh singled to get on base and Joe Chimenti followed with a double to score one run. Then, one out later, Matt Kamp cleared the bases on a three-run homer.

The Trolls held that 9-0 lead for the win. Overall the team had 15 hits for the game. Randy Ditzler pitched the entire game for the shut-out victory.

Trinity fell behind early in the second game as they gave up two runs in the each of the first two innings. They got two of those back in the third inning on a two-run homer by Matt Kamp.

Cardinal Stritch scored one more run in the third inning to make it 5-2. The Trolls rallied in the fifth inning with four hits that scored three runs to tie the game. A damper was put on the comeback in the bottom of that inning as Stritch added four runs to take a 9-5 lead. The score stayed there for the remaining innings.

The Trolls will wait for the conference schedule to finish up to determine the seeding for the CCAC tournament that begins on May 1.
