Timothy Huizenga Commits to Trinity  (5/1/08)
Timothy Huizenga, a senior at Illiana Christian High School, will attend Trinity Christian College and participate in both soccer and track and field.

On the soccer field Huizenga helped Illiana to a 15-3-4 record in 2007 and their first Private School League championship in 16 years. He was an honorable mention all-area selection as a goalkeeper.

In just his first full year of track and field competition, Huizenga is already making an impact with success in the long jump, triple jump and relays. He recently won the triple jump and participated on two winning relays at the Chicago Christian Invitational.

"I am excited to know that Tim chose to become a part of our community,” said Jose Dominguez, head men’s soccer coach at Trinity. “I am convinced that Tim will fit in very well with our team and am eager to have him work the other goalies as they help each other improve individually and as a unit.”

“Tim has turned out to be a very pleasant surprise,” said Trinity track coach Jeff Raymond. “He’s already posted marks over 20 feet in the long jump and almost 43 feet in the triple jump, and he is really just learning the events. When you add on his ability to run sprints and relays, he will be a great addition to our program.”

Timothy is the son of Dave and Jodi Huizenga of Munster, Indiana.
