Softball Program Adds Talent  (5/8/08)
Coach Kristin Peeples continues to prepare for next season with the commitment of Jenny Drewicz of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Becky Taylor of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois.
 
Jenny Drewicz is a pitcher and outfielder at Waukesha West High School (Wisconsin). In addition she also uses her talents in the summer, playing for the Lake County Lightning. As a part of that team, she posted a 15-6 record and a 1.73 ERA with 138 innings pitched last summer.  She also had a .271 batting average.
 
“Jenny will strengthen our team,” said Coach Peeples. “She is a positive addition to our program and we will be able to utilize her talents in the field and on the pitching mound.”
 
Jenny is the daughter of Tom Drewicz and Cindy Drewicz of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
 
Becky Taylor, daughter of Shawn and Janice Taylor, is a senior at Zion-Benton Township High School (Zion, Illinois), where she pitches for the softball team. So far for the 2008 season, she has a 1.03 ERA and a .252 batting average.
 
During the summer Becky plays for the Vernon Hills Stingers travel team. During the 2007 summer she hit .294 while also posting a 2.56 ERA.
 
“Becky will bring depth to our pitching staff,” said Peeples. “She has a positive attitude and is willing to put in the hard work to be successful at the next level.”
