SOFTBALL
OPENS CONFERENCE WITH VICTORIES (3/23/04)
The softball
team opened their conference schedule with two victories over Judson College.
The Trolls were able to shut out Judson in the first game with a 9-0 win
in 6 innings. They kept things going in the second game with a 5-1 victory.
The Trolls are now 4-7 for the season and 2-0 in the conference.
The Trolls were
able to score in every inning but one in the first game of the double header
action. They tallied up 14 hits in that game. Gail Landini was 4
for 4 with 2 singles and 2 doubles. Stephanie Koedyker was solid
at the plate with 3 hits in 4 attempts and 4 RBIs. Michelle Cooke
had one hit for the game, but it was 3 run homer in the 5th inning. That
brings her home run total for the year to 4.
In the second
game a big second inning was all the Trolls needed to take the game. They
had 6 hits and scored 5 runs in that inning. Judson's only run of the game
came in the 4th inning. Landini, Amber Heaney, and Amanda
Wilkins each recorded 2 hits.
