BASEBALL
ADDS OFFENSE
WITH ROB
EMMONS (5/26/04)
Coach Matt Schans
adds strength to the offensive efforts for the 2005 season as he adds Rob
Emmons to the team. Emmons, a graduate of Johnsburg High School (IL), signed
a letter of intent, agreeing to play his college baseball years at Trinity
Christian College while pursuing a degree in business communications.
The right handed
Emmons, son of Jim and Linda Emmons, played both a catcher and outfielder
for his high school team. He helped his team to winning season in his senior
year as he provided offensive power at the plate. During that season Emmons
had a .507 batting average with 34 hits, including 10 doubles and 4 homeruns,
while bringing in at least 23 RBIs.
"Rob will make
an immediate impact on our team. He will step into the catcher position,
giving us some depth at that position, as well as compete for an outfield
position, " says Coach Schans. "Rob hit around .500 as a high school senior
and has good power. He is a good base runner who can steal bases and gives
us some needed athleticism. Rob is an outstanding person who will be a
great addition to our program."
