BASEBALL
SIGNS DITZLER AND VANDER SCHAAF (8/6/04)
The baseball
team rounds out their roster for the next season as Coach Matt Schans signs
two more players. Randy Ditzler, a 2004 graduate of Eisenhower High School
(Blue Island, Ill.), received All-Conference honors his senior year. He
will help the Trolls as a pitcher as well as in the outfield. Coach Schans
is excited to have Randy. "He will definitely help us out as a pitcher.
He throws well and has an excellent curve ball. Randy is also a good athlete
who is very fast and will vying for time in the outfield."
Also helping
the team out on the pitcher's mound is Eric Vander Schaaf. He graduated
from Timothy Christian High School (Elmhurst, Ill.) in 2003. "Eric
is a solid pitcher who, along with the other recruits, will give us great
depth," says Coach Schans. "I expect him to contribute right away, even
with a year off. He has a strong character and maturity which will be a
tremendous bonus to have in the freshman class."
