Today we started off the day going to the GAP ministries house. We learned more about their ministry and got a tour of the Villa where they live. We enjoyed spending time fellowshipping with them. After a lunch of tostadas, we loaded up the bus and left for our clinic and game in San Jose. We were surprised to find a very large group of Costa Rican youths ranging from 3-22. Although we were not expecting this range of ages, we embraced the opportunity to teach these willing individuals more about the game of soccer. The groups were split based on age; the older group received a more intense training while the younger kids were split into groups and did stations that focused on passing, dribbling, and shooting. Afterwards, a teammate gave her testimony to the group, and then we prepared for our game against San Jose. They provided a good competition, but we beat them by a large margin. Again after this game, a teammate shared her testimony, and we were able to share the gospel and give them some Trinity Christian College t-shirts. They were excited for the t-shirts, listened intently to the testimony, and were glad we were there to play them.
We came back to Coronado to some rice, beans, and chips that our stomachs more than welcomed. We were treated with donuts for dessert, which everyone was excited for. After two more testimonies and devotions, we called it a night. All in all, we could definitely see God at work today and are very excited to see what the rest of the week will bring!
