In the morning we went to Los Guidos to do a clinic for the youth in the area. This part of Costa Rica is extremely poor, and recently the government has forbidden soccer on the fields in this location. Because we were there to do the clinic, they were allowed on the field to train with us. It was a great experience to witness the joy on the faces of these young people playing soccer. We split them into groups based off age and again provided different stations focusing on different soccer skills. We had the priviledge of playing the games with them and because of this we became like role-models to the youth, which made them more attentive when we gave our testimony.
After the clinic, we traveled back to the Corondo Complex for lunch and about an hour of relaxation time. We then packed up and departed to San Fransisco to play their local women's team. Though we won, this game was more physically and mentally challenging as we had to keep our cool in difficult playing situations. After the game, we again shared our testimony, and it was well recieved. A Score International missionary then spoke a few words about Christ and asked the girls to open their hearts to the Word, many decided to make this decision. They were very grateful to recieve our t-shirts, and we connected with one of the girls on the team. We then traveled back home and were served another great meal by the Score staff. It was truly a blessing to see God at work in mysterious ways. Even in the poor community, we could see Christ at work.
