SPANISH PROGRAM STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

Throughout the year assessment data is gathered through student and alumni surveys, standardized exams, capstone essays, oral interviews, and Semester in Spain and field education assessments. The following outcomes show areas where our students have excelled in their studies of Spanish and Spanish Education.

Spanish

-Evaluate from a Christian worldview the expressive forms (e.g., music, dance, folk art, drama and architecture) related to various societies that use Spanish.
-Interpret from a Christian perspective representative types of literature and various media of societies that use Spanish.
-Demonstrate an awareness of the history, geography, social institutions, and contemporary events of various societies that use Spanish.

Spanish Education

-Articulate the processes involved in acquiring Spanish.
-Explain in Spanish the structure of Spanish in a manner understandable to a variety of learners.
