Social Work: Tenure-Track Faculty Position
Tenure-track faculty position in the Social Work department, starting August 2014. This is a 10-month contract with summer responsibilities that include departmental assessment and planning as a CSWE accredited program.
The social work department at Trinity Christian College seeks applications for a faculty member who also serves as the program’s Director of Field Education.
Ph.D. in social work or a related discipline strongly preferred; MSW from a CSWE accredited program plus two years post-MSW practice experience required. LCSW or comparable licensure from another State preferred. Previous collegiate teaching experience desired. Knowledge of CSWE accreditation and experience with the reaffirmation process is preferred. Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed Christian higher education and be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of faith and learning. Faculty members are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside the classroom through advising, the program’s professional development series, professional conference attendance, and Social Work Student Organization activities.
Candidates are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Field Education Program through collaborative partnership with field organization sites, training of field instructors, and placement of students. Candidates must be eager to teach courses in the generalist practice sequence, values and ethics, HBSE, and field seminar. In addition, they must contribute to efforts of the social work department including but not limited to the program’s reaffirmation process as an accredited CSWE program, support of CEU workshop programming, and leadership within the Social Work Advisory Group. Successful candidates will align with the program’s mission to prepare students for community-centered generalist practice through diverse practice experiences, a commitment to social justice, and a dedication to life-long learning. We are seeking diverse candidates with strong interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, with a commitment to social work and its professional advancement. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to form and sustain partnerships with social work colleagues and organizations throughout the Chicago area and in international sites in Ecuador and Kenya.
The dates of the new faculty orientation are August 12-14, 2014.
