Nursing: Faculty Position as Simulation Lab Coordinator
Full time faculty position in the Department of Nursing, starting August 16, 2014. The department of nursing offers a professional program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
A master’s degree in nursing is required; a doctorate in nursing or a related area is preferred. Knowledge of high fidelity simulation equipment and maintenance strengthens the application. Current licensure as a professional nurse in Illinois, or eligibility for, is required. Clinical experience in nursing and the ability to work in the lab and supervise students in the clinical setting is required. Successful experience in teaching at the baccalaureate level is desirable.
Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed, Christian higher education and be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of faith and learning. Faculty members are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside the classroom in advising, social interaction, and informal academic and cultural settings.
Management of simulation lab facility. Prepares and maintains equipment for students and faculty. Instructs department faculty on simulation equipment and other technology such as Elsevier Simulation Learning System Assists with validations and integration of simulation scenarios including scenario development for nursing courses in the BSN curriculum. Completes lab set-up and preparation for classes as planned with faculty. Provides and supports practice opportunities for students. Supervises the lab student workers.
There may be responsibility for teaching the classroom and/or clinical components in area(s) that match expertise. Faculty members have additional responsibility for student advisement, college and department service, and scholarly and professional achievement especially in the simulation arena.
