Professional and Personal Interests
Emily Kennerk is a painter and sculptor but finds her ultimate expression of art in the classroom.
“Even when working as a consultant on artistic endeavors, I always seemed to find time to teach a class or mentor someone in the arts.”
Kennerk completed her undergraduate work at the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana, and received her master’s degree with merit honors at Cranbrook Academy of Fine Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She taught at the Herron School of Art and DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, before joining Trinity Christian College in 2006.
As a student in art school, Kennerk enjoyed learning new methods and gathering a variety of skill sets. In the course of her education, she discovered that learning is a life-long process.
“Maturing as an artist and as an individual, I came to the realization that I will always be a student—learning, exploring, and engaging. I still find the process exciting, and I hope to help my students become students for life.”
