Professional and Personal Interests
For Don Woo, it is all about the students.
“I hope to stimulate learning and provide my students with what they need to prepare them for service in God’s kingdom. I hope to use my years of experience to help equip my students to answer God’s call to them.”
God’s call for Woo to teach at Trinity Christian College came in 2001 when he began serving as an adjunct professor.
“I realized I loved teaching at Trinity and was revitalized by the opportunity to interact with college students seeking to become teachers. I had truly discovered my calling.”
Woo’s career as a Christian educator began in 1971 at Calvin Christian School in South Holland, Illinois. After serving in a variety of capacities over 34 years, he came to Trinity. Woo describes it as a perfect fit.
“Trinity Christian College is committed to providing an excellent Christ-centered education from a Reformed, biblical perspective. I want to show my students how that Reformed worldview affects every area of life. My faith shapes the way that I look at students, informs my view of the purpose of education, drives my desire to serve students, and influences my desire to see students make a difference in this world.”
Woo enjoys fishing and cooking, but finds the most joy in spending time with his family. He and his wife, Kay, have been married for 36 years. They have two sons, Don and Eric. The Woos live in St. John, Indiana, and attend Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Lansing, Illinois.
