FYF 2014 Winter Assignment
In the FYF 101 and 111 courses at Trinity, our top priorities are welcoming you into a community of Christian scholarship, introducing you to our understanding of God’s work in the world and challenging you to view your educational life as service.
To get ready for FYF, you are required to complete the 2014 Winter Assignment. You will need to login to Moodle, Trinity’s course management system using your Trinity login ID and password- the same ID and password you used to register for classes. Once you log in, follow the instructions.
Note: you will not be able to login until you’ve officially registered for the FYF 101 or FYF 111 course.
Here’s why we do the assignment:
- You engage a college-level reading and writing assignment
- You reflect on the themes of community, faith and service
- You receive feedback from your FYF mentors that helps guide you as a student
- You prepare for small group discussions that will take place during FYF
In the Office of the First Year Experience, we do everything we can to prepare you for college life. The engagement and reflection you do here prepares you for your life at Trinity – your academic life and your community life.
Small Groups during FYF
A big part of FYF is journeying through the experience with a small group facilitated by student and faculty mentors. Here’s what we hear from students about the small group discussions:
“I loved our small group times. Our group connected really well and it was so nice a have a group of people whose names I knew and stories I had heard. I really appreciated wondering together about how our time at Trinity might look.”
“I had a great group, made a great connections with the mentors and my group. I had a great time in my FYF group.”
Our hope is that all students will say this stuff after their FYF experience!
