This romp through the Big Apple includes tours of eight major museums and 3-4 gallery districts plus visits to artists in their studios.
We just arrived. The plan is about two museums a day. Most of the students just completed a course on the history of late 20th century art. So, tomorrow we will go to the International Center of Photography and then spend the bulk of the day at the Museum of Modern Art where students will see all the work they have just been studying and then some, including a major retrospective of Willem de Kooning's work.
Friday is the Frick and the Met. Alumnus Sam McCune (’05) is going to join us for the day and talk about be a 20-something Christian in the art world.
Saturday is the Guggenheim for a Maurizio Cattelan retrospective and the Whitney...a little sightseeing Sunday and 5 pm church at Res Pres [Resurrection Presbyterian] in Brooklyn.
Next week is more museums and the gallery districts and 2-3 famous artists.
