Many scholars of popular culture consider The Beatles to be a significant social force of the 20th century. The students are travelling to London and Liverpool to study the history and social impact of the Beatles. In London they will go to all of the major Beatles’ sights and visit places of interest like Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, and Windsor Castle. They will also stop for short visits to Oxford University, and Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare’s home). In Liverpool, they will visit all of the Beatles’ childhood homes, places that inspired songs like Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane, places where the Beatles performed before they were famous, and a museum called The Beatles Story.
