The discipline of English is fundamental to all Trinity students, no matter their majors.
Professors prepare students for graduate work in English and for entry into fields such as publishing, law, and education. They also marvel along with students at the beauty of the English language and teach students to use it in both critical and creative writing.
“Out-of-the-books” learning happens as professors offer opportunities for participation in undergraduate conferences, field education at local organizations, and attendance at the Chicago Humanities Festival.
