Once again Monteverde gave us a nice cloud mist rainbow last night. Also, last night there was excitement with a small scorpion in one of the rooms. Of course, the girls in the room didn't know that there are no poisonous scorpions in the area of Monteverde. Several of us helped remove the scorpion and then we had a calm night. Throught today we paused to remember that we are in God's sanctuary. At 6:00 a.m. several of us went on a wildlife walk on which we saw many varieties of birds and several agouti. We then went to the Monteverde Cloudforest Reserve for a great two hour hike about ecology and the cloud forest. Again, we saw many varieties of birds and even saw two hummingbird nests and the nest of a quetzel. We also saw quite a few coatimundi. Before leaving the area, we visited the Hummingbird Gallery, where we viewed over 10 species of hummingbirds in the wild. In the afternoon, most of the group explored the canopy with an incredible zipline experience. The othes explored the canopy with a two hour skywalk on the forest and on long suspension bridges. It was a great day with a rain free morning and only a misty afternoon.
