Yesterday we had a beautiful drive to the San Jose, Costa Rica airport, arriving about 3.5 hours before our flight. We had a great close up view of the Pacific Ocean along the way. Unfortunately our flight to Miami was delayed about 45 minutes leaving, because it arrived about one hour late. When we arrived in Miami we knew we would have to really hustle to make our connection. We ran the very, very, very long way to Immigration, but the line there eventually kept us from making our flight. After clearing Immigration and clearing Customs we arrived at the baggage check 5 minutes after boarding started and American Airlines would not let us check our luggage and board our flight. Holbrook Travel helped re-book our flight for Jan. 12 through Columbus, Ohio. American Airlines put us in a hotel 20 minutes from the airport and we were able to sleep about three hours, before getting up for our early journey today, Jan. 12. We encountered several long lines last night and this morning, but are almost home. We are in Columbus, Ohio now about to board our flight to Chicago. We are thankful that we could get out of Miami and back to Chicago, because the Miami airport was very hectic with all the rough central and south weather yesterday. All are well, just a little tired.
