Dear Family and Friends,
Days don’t get much better than the one we had today, and it’s not even over yet.
We began the day with a delicious breakfast followed by a spirit-filled worship service focused on compassion. There was an awesome time of worship where we danced, clapped, raised our hands, and generally rejoiced in the joy of our Lord. After the inspiring message was a time of ministry that was especially meaningful to several members of our team.
After church we all boarded our coaster and headed to the Pork Pit for a meal of Jerk chicken, pork, and shrimp with all of the Jamaican sides--delicious! Since we were already on the hip strip in downtown Mo Bay we headed to Doctor’s Cave Beach Club and spent the afternoon enjoying the Caribbean Sea and beautiful sandy beach.
Back at school we enjoyed dinner and made preparations for our first day of work of Monday. You can also tell how much fun members of the team had doing dishes.
We’re all looking forward to our devotion time tonight, as we will have a chance to reflect on both our experiences so far in Jamaica and especially our experience at Trumpet Call Ministries this morning.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers: for health, safety, and the ability to share God’s love with the children and staff at the Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf as well as the orphans at Robin’s Nest and the college students at Sam Sharpe Teacher’s College.
(Toward the end of the week I’ll send a flight update for parents and friends picking up the team members at Midway on Sunday night at 6:01 p.m., AirTran #1043. This arrival time is always subject to change so please check AirTran’s schedule before you leave for Midway Airport.)
