Women’s Volleyball Team Advances to NCCAA National Championship – Dec. 1-3

Women's VolleyballThe Women’s Volleyball Team claimed the regional title in the NCCAA North Central Region Tournament with a victory over the Trinity International University Trojans (TIU) on November 18. As the top seed of the region tournament, the Trolls took the Trojans in four sets with scores of 25-11, 25-20, 21-25, and 25-11. Trinity ended the match with a .267 hitting percentage and with 54 kills. Kaitlin Feddema led the team with 19 kills, 17 digs, and three aces. Taylor Lee added 10 kills while Melanie Lawrence had 43 assists and 11 digs. Erynn Schuh posted 15 digs and three aces toward the winning effort.

The Trolls (33-9) will now advance to the NCCAA National Championship in Kissimmee, Florida, on December 1-3. This is their second straight appearance to the NCCAA National Championship, where they advanced to the Final Four last season. Trinity will be one of 10 teams from across the country that will participate at the Kissimmee Civic Center. The first two days of the tournament, December 1 and 2, are pool play, with the top teams of each pool advancing to the final four on December 3.

Seeded at #3, the Trolls will take on #7 Asbury University at 10 a.m. and #6 Dallas Baptist University at 2 p.m. on December 1.
