Music: Adjunct Professor to Direct Wind Ensemble, 2014-2015
Responsible for all aspects of the ensemble, including leading all rehearsals and performances, choosing music, overseeing student workers, recruiting Trinity students to play in the ensemble, and working with Trinity staff to schedule concerts and to determine appropriate additional off-campus performances (e.g., in local churches, schools).
Depending on the applicant’s interests, qualifications, and area of expertise, it is possible to also direct a chamber ensemble (brass quintet or woodwind quintet) and/or teach private lessons.
Trinity’s music department offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music Education and in Music (with added concentrations in music performance, church music, and theory and composition), as well as minors in Music and Church Music. Trinity’s wind ensemble includes music majors and minors, but is primarily composed of students from a wide variety of other majors across campus.
Master’s degree in music or equivalent directing experience. Experience and expertise in directing large instrumental ensembles and previous collegiate experience desired. Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to excellence. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed Christian higher education and be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of faith and learning.
