News Release

March 25, 2008

Dear parent or guardian,

Spring is a time of excitement and anxiety for students as they make decisions regarding housing arrangements for the upcoming school year.  It is during these times that students most value support from both the college and from home.  For that reason, I am requesting that you encourage your students’ careful consideration of available housing options and their timely submission of housing requests in the upcoming weeks.

Campus housing offers living environments that create the capacity for social integration with peers, faculty, and the institution.  College residency supports cognitive change for students in all class levels due to heightened opportunities for social, cultural, and other academic involvement.  The residence halls at Trinity Christian College are intended to be living communities that promote academic success and contribute to students’ intellectual, interpersonal, spiritual, and personal development.  We believe that residency significantly contributes to a students learning experience while in college and therefore all students, 21 years of age and younger, who leave home to attend Trinity, are required to live on campus.

Between April 14 and April 25, all current full time students are required to complete an online housing preference and request form.  The online form will allow students to communicate their building and suitemate preferences.  Assignments will be made based upon date of form submission and class year; students will be made aware of their fall housing assignment by May 7

Specifically note that there are changes to the college’s off campus apartment community; both cost and program have been strategically redesigned to support junior and senior students desire to experience an off campus apartment style living experience.  We are certain that these changes will further contribute to their total educational experience at Trinity.

Details about housing options can be found on the college’s website at www.trnty.edu.  Your student will soon receive detailed instructions about how to access and submit the online request form.  Please do not hesitate to contact me or the student development office if you have any questions.

Thank you for supporting your student and encouraging their thoughtful decision making as they anticipate housing for the upcoming school year.

Associate Dean for Student and Residence Life
