TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE AND COLLEGE OF DUPAGE PARTNER TO OFFER
ADULT ACCELERATED TEACHING CERTIFICATION AT C.O.D. ADDISON CENTER

5/19/05

Beginning September 2005, Trinity Christian College (Trinity) will offer its Accelerated Teaching Certification program at College of DuPage's (C.O.D.) Addison Center. The Addison, Ill., facility is located just off I-355 and Army Trail Road and is convenient for students residing in western Cook County and all of DuPage County. The certification program has previously been offered at Trinity's Palos Heights campus since 2000. More than 300 prepared educators have earned their certification and/or Bachelor's degree through Trinity's Adult Studies program.

"Our program is truly unique in that it is accelerated, Christian and convenient," said Lori Scrementi, Director of Adult Studies Programs at Trinity. "And through our partnership with C.O.D., we have chosen a location to better serve the needs of students who wanted to join our program but couldn't afford the commute time. This is really the best answer for Trinity, C.O.D. and most importantly the student."

The program in conjunction with the C.O.D. Addison Center will consist of 15 months of coursework, offered one night a week, and one semester of student teaching which is conducted off-site at a local elementary or high school. "The Addison facility is perfect for the commuting adult student because of the amenities and the location," said Diane McHugh, Regional Center Supervisor at the Addison site.  "We are so excited to have Trinity partner with us to offer this program to adult students in the western suburbs. It's a win-win for both colleges."

Trinity is a Christian college dedicated to providing a Biblically informed, liberal arts education. College of DuPage is the Midwest's largest community college, serving more than 33,700 full- and part-time students.  For more information, contact Lori Scrementi, Director of Adult Studies Programs at Trinity Christian College, 708.239.4842, or Diane McHugh, Director of Academic Services, College of DuPage, at 630.942.3939.
