PALOS HEIGHTS, IL-New Board of Trustee nominees have been appointed at Trinity Christian College for the 2000-2003 term. Local nominees are: Mr. Oliver H. Dorn, Rev. Alvin Love, Dr. Gary Smit, and Mrs. Barbara Van Prooyen. 

Mr. Dorn and his wife, Candace, live in De Motte, Indiana. He is the owner of Dorn Farms, which is a grain, livestock, and custom silage chopping business.  Members of the First Christian Reformed Church in De Motte, he and his wife have five children, one of whom attended Trinity for two years.
Rev. Love and his wife, Carolyn, live in Chicago and have one son.  He is the pastor of Lilydale First Baptist Church and an alumnus of Trinity.  He has been a board member of the National Baptist Convention, general secretary of the State Convention, moderator for the Greater New Baptist District Association of Chicago, and president of the Developing Communities Project.  He has served Trinity as a chapel speaker and keynote speaker of cultural diversity and multi-ethnicity.

Dr. Smit and his wife, Jayne, live in Lombard, Illinois, and have four children, one of whom attends Trinity.  He is superintendent of schools in the Lombard School District and former chairman of the Elim Christian School Board.  He and his wife attend Western Springs Christian Reformed Church where he has served in leadership roles.  He is a former Trinity Board member.
Mrs. Van Prooyen and her husband, Tom, live in Dyer, Indiana, and have two children.  An alumnus of Trinity, she is a certified public accountant with Swartz, Retson and Company.  She has been on the foundation board and parent/teacher board of Highland Christian School in Highland, Indiana.  She and her husband are members of the First Christian Reformed Church in Highland.

Office holders for the Board are: Mr. Terry Van Der Aa, chairman; Mr. Henry Doorn, vice chairman; Mrs. Sheryl Hammer, secretary; and Mr. Marty Ozinga III, treasurer.  Mr. Van Der Aa and his wife, Linda, live in Hinsdale, Illinois.  Mr. Doorn and his wife, Karen, live in Palos Heights, Illinois.  Mrs. Hammer and her husband, Donald, live in Lansing, Illinois.  Mr. Ozinga III and his wife, Ruth, live in Lockport, Illinois.
