We began the experiment last year: to go paperless with the President’s Report. Given the positive response, we have continued this practice and are able to provide four perspectives on the previous year: this introduction, a financial review, the year in photographs, and our list of donor friends.
As I look back on the year, three factors spring immediately to mind.
First, Trinity Christian College began offering our first graduate level programs. We’ve begun with two master’s degree programs: counseling psychology and special education. Both programs arise out of strong undergraduate programs in each area, are faithful to our mission, and represent the care and ministries we should offer in our schools and communities, as Christ instructs us in Matthew 25: “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these…* you did it to me.”
Second, Trinity Christian College continues to provide excellent education as evidenced by key measures. For example, of Illinois colleges and universities with 25 or more CPA exam sections taken, our accounting graduates had the highest 2011 average score (All Parts) of all the schools, an impressive 78.08. In addition, the percentage of 2012 nursing graduates passing their licensure exams was 92 percent! These professional programs are just two among more than 70 of Trinity programs where excellence opens doors for our alumni to serve God nearby and far away.
Finally, the Trinity Christian College campus continues to develop. The first phase of the gym expansion project was completed in time for the 2011-12 academic year, and as the 2012-13 year began, the second phase was launched. In this phase, we’re rehabbing the Mitchell Memorial Gymnasium and providing an addition on the west side of the facility for fitness and weight training.
Progress has also been made off campus on Trinity’s Rt. 83 athletics fields, which has provided an artificial turf field for soccer practice and competitions for the past two seasons. Current developments include two new softball fields that will be ready for use for the spring season. Two grass soccer fields are seeded and growing, and the baseball field is roughed out and ready for final construction this summer.
God continues to bless Trinity Christian College. One God in three, we praise you!
