Selah Hopkins ‘22

Selah Hopkins ’22 knew God wanted her to be at Trinity from the moment she stepped on campus. ‘The sense of family and community was overwhelming and really helped seal my decisions, as well as how comfortable the soccer team and Coach Josh [Lenarz] made me feel right from my first visit,” she said.

A physical education major and native of Bowmanville, Ontario, Hopkins said her mother, who is in the education world, has been her biggest inspiration to become a teacher. “I have been around kids my whole life teaching soccer camps and working at schools, so being around kids and seeing them grow has been a big part of my upbringing,” she said.

Along with her mother, Trinity’s soccer coaching staff and her teammates have also helped her to grow. “I have been tested with my patience, leadership, responsibility, and more. That really prepared me for what I am now going to expect while being a teacher.”
