Limback Named Staff Member of the Year
Marie Limback ’81 has been named Trinity Christian College’s Staff Member of the Year. Limback has had a long and dynamic relationship with Trinity. She remembers being on campus as child when her siblings were students. She would follow them, earning her BA as a Troll. She was then followed by her own children who also graduated from Trinity. Limback has worked at Trinity in a variety of roles, most recently as the Nursing Administrative Coordinator. Since the November announcement of Trinity’s impending closure, Limback has stepped beyond the Nursing Department and brought her warmth and calm to the broader Trinity community.
The staff, students, and faculty who nominated Limback for this honor highlighted her intentional care and approachability. One nominator from the Nursing Department remarked, “Marie Limbach is someone who really makes a difference in our nursing department, often in simple but meaningful ways. She’s usually the first person we see when we walk in, and she always greets people with kindness. It sets the tone for the day.”
Other nomination remarks, including this one, emphasized Limback’s steady presence:
“No matter how stressful things felt, she had a way of making us feel seen, supported, and capable. She has been more than just an advisor; she has been a source of encouragement, guidance, and reassurance during some of the most challenging moments of our journey. Whether we needed help navigating academics, managing stress, or just someone to listen, Marie was always there with patience and kindness.”
For her part, Limback is viewing this recognition in the context of her broader bonds with the Trinity community. She notes:
“I am so thankful to God that he has called me to his Kingdom work in the Trinity community, as a student, as a parent, and as an employee. Having worked here for a total of 19 years in several capacities, I’ve been blessed to walk alongside and support colleagues and students in their calling to Christ-centered scholarship and vocation. To be honored in this way this year as Trinity’s time comes to an end is humbling and bittersweet, yet joyful! God is good, all the time!”
