Frequently Asked Questions

Are you hungry yet? Figure out the ins and outs of Trollbucks, swipes, meals, and snacks so you can get to the best part—eating.

Residents select a plan when signing up for housing. Commuters can email studentlife@trnty.edu with your selection, call 708.239.4704, or stop by the Student Life office. Meal plan selections need to be made prior to the start of the semester; changes must be made before the tenth calendar day of the semester. Contact the student life office with questions about meal plan assignments or changes.

TrollBucks are a set amount of money, with a declining balance, connected to each meal plan.

TrollBucks can be spent on a meal in the Dining Hall or on a la carte items in the Bootsma Bookstore Café

Your meal plan is connected to your student ID. Simply scan your ID at the Dining Hall or the Bootsma Bookstore Café and meals or TrollBucks are deducted.

You can use your meal plan to purchase meals for parents and friends. The Block 225 and 190 allow you to swipe multiple times per meal (see other side). For example, the Block 190 plan allows you to purchase a meal for you and one other person. This would equal 2 swipes for that meal.

The Dining Hall or the Bootsma Bookstore Café (BBC) cashiers are always ready to let you know your current balances.

“Snacks” are a combination of a counter drink and a food item available at the BBC. For example, coffee and a bagel, a fountain drink and a cookie, or a fountain drink and chips. These are available 1 snack per day M-F.

Yes. TrollBucks roll over fall-spring, but not spring-fall.
